DEMOSTHENES M. LONG, JD. Ed.D.

Dr. Long recently stepped down from a full time faculty position to an adjunct faculty position in the Criminal Justice and Security department at Pace University. Prior to joining the faculty at Pace University, Dr. Long enjoyed a 31-year career in public safety. He served for 21 years with the New York Police Department retiring at the rank of Assistant Chief, served for 5 years as the First Deputy Commissioner/Undersheriff of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety-Division of County Police, served for 3 years as the Public Safety Director of Operations for the Morningside campus at Columbia University, and served for 2 years as the Director of Corporate Security at KeySpan.  Dr. Long has extensive experience conducting operational assessments of U.S. law enforcement agencies.

Dr. Long has a BS in Police Science and a MA in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a JD from New York Law School and an Ed.D. from St John Fisher College.
